Process and device for separating a disperse system into an electrochemical cell

Abstract

The aqueous emulsion to be separated flows through an electrochemical cell (1), in which the small emulsified droplets join together to form larger separable drops in or on a working electrode (4). The process can be used particularly for the separation of an oil-in-water emulsion. <IMAGE>
