Control rod for nuclear reactor and its manufacturing method



PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control rod for a nuclear reactor and its manufacturing method capable of reducing the tensile residual stress generated at a sheath in the vicinity of a welded section and minimizing the deformation. SOLUTION: A control rod 30 for a nuclear reactor includes: a cross-shaped central tie rod 6 of which each side edge part is fixed with a U-shaped opening edge of a U-shaped sheath 7 respectively; a plurality of hafnium metal plates 10 disposed opposite to each other in the thickness direction in each sheath; and supporting pieces 13 having reduction holes 14 at the center to reduce residual stress, interposed between the opposing hafnium metal plates for supporting the hafnium metal plates, and forming routes to circulate a moderator in the facing clearance between hafnium metal plates in respective sheathes.
